Job Description: As an Immigration Attorney at Brigante, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise and exceptional service to our clients in matters related to US immigration law. Reporting directly to the manging attorneys, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of immigration cases and maintaining the highest standards of quality control. Preferably with experience with family and humanitarian visas such as I-130s, I-485s, VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa etc..
At your discretion, possible involvement with social media and other marketing activties but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Approving packets to be sent to USCIS
Review and prepare immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government agency (including VAWA/I-360, T Visa/I-914, U Visa/I-918, I-485
(LPR), I-130, I-765, I-131).
Has knowledge about US Immigration Law: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of US immigration laws, regulations, and procedures to provide accurate and up-to-date counsel to clients. Training will also be provided.
Communicate with clients regarding procedural and case processing issues, while preparing and reviewing cases.
Ensure clients are kept informed of any missing documents and the process of their cases before and after filing cases.
Provide cases status reports regarding all assigned cases on a weekly basis to the managing attorney.
Utilized case management system regularly to update case processing status and any client information.
Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, government agencies, and internal team members effectively.
Client Interaction: Handle client inquiries with professionalism and empathy,
providing clear explanations and guidance through different medias.
People Skills: Foster positive relationships with clients and colleagues, demonstrating a strong sense of empathy and understanding.
Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest ethical standards and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
· Licensed US Attorney
· At least 1-4 years of Immigration Law Experience, and ideally with at least 1 year of VAWA/T-Visa/Humanitarian experience.
· Preferably experience in US immigration law, with a focus on technical aspects and legal case review.
· Proficient editing and attention to detail skills.
· Strong understanding of Good Moral Character requirements in immigration matters.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
· Proven ability to interact professionally with clients in person and over the phone
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
· A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
