Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs, located in Needham, Ma. is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Under the direction of the Medical Director, the NP will provide medication management and consultation to The Outpatient Clinic and CBAT Programs (including clients and families, consult with families and multidisciplinary team around clinical assessment and diagnostic issues, participate in case reviews and case consultation as needed, be part of multi-disciplinary team of Walker Programs, provide in-service training as needed, and act as liaison to community health professionals involved in the care of clients. Successful candidates will have a Master’s degree from an accredited Nursing School and be a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Massachusetts.

Requirements:

Master’s degree from an accredited Nursing School.

Board Certification as a PMHNP in the state of Massachusetts.

Experience in therapeutic treatment and medication management of patients across the life span in a community mental health setting.

Familiarity with and adherence to documentation guidelines for CPT coding requirements.

Proficiency in use of computer systems for clinical care and clinical information management.

Obtain and maintain professional malpractice insurance of at least $100,000.00 per claim, with a minimum annual aggregate of not less than $300,000.00.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to produce written reports in a timely manner.
Preferred: Independent prescriptive authority in Massachusetts
Essential functions:

Provide diagnostic assessments according to the DSM-V and ICD-10, to determine level of care.

Prescribe psychotropic medication and conduct regular assessments of the therapeutic responses and side effects of medication to clients.

Be part of WCC multidisciplinary team to review current cases and make treatment recommendations.

Provide consultation to clinicians as needed.
-
Respond to emergencies as needed only after a clinician has been contacted first.

Attend group supervision and staff meetings as needed.

Complete all necessary clinical documentation for patients including, but not limited to, psychiatric assessments, treatment plans and progress notes.

Complete risk assessment and mental status on all patients at intake and throughout treatment.

Maintain adherence to outpatient insurance contracts.

Consult with collaterals and other medical and psychiatric treaters for continuity of care.

Vacation coverage for Psychiatrist.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
Supervision to be received: This position reports directly to the Clinic Director and is supervised by a Board Certified Psychiatrist.
