We are a small but growing manufacturer of high performance, industrial automation products, located on Kent Island, the beautiful gem of the Chesapeake Bay.
We need an experienced Drive Systems Project Engineer to join our growing custom engineered systems team. We have many years of experience both in manufacturing our own programmable controls, drives and touch screens and in building custom systems of all sizes and levels of complexity.
We are looking for an accountable project engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will design, schedule, plan, forecast and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide complete detail design and documentation for custom engineered control systems
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
- Ensure on specification, on time, on budget.
Skills
- BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven working experience as a drives & controls project engineer
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Familiarity with UL and NEC rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Ability to quickly understand machine and process concepts
- Project management and supervision skills
- Decision making ability and leadership skills
- Time management and organization skills
Applicants must have a good degree or graduate qualification in Electrical Engineering, together with experience in the design, construction and implementation of high quality engineered control systems in a diverse range of industrial applications. Excellent customer, vendor and team communications capability, together with an eye for detail and passion for excellence are essential.
