P&L experience is critical to the success of this role. Healthy mix of sales and operations is fantastic.
This is a traveling position, which includes overnights. Within the first 6 months plan to be visiting the regions at minimum 2-3 days a week to learn the customer base, and more.
The Market General Manager will be responsible for building and developing a team of knowledgeable, professional, and engaged team members. Driving profitable topline and bottom-line performance through experienced P&L management while enforcing and maintaining company standards across a designated geography.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Drive a safety-first culture, strive for zero injuries, recordables, and lost time incidents
- Achieve profitable revenue, gross profit, and earnings targets, while expanding Alside's share of the market
- Manage and motivate the sales organization to achieve budgets and product objectives through compliance of CRM tools and business processes
- Achieve best in class distribution operating metrics while optimizing and delivering a best-in-class customer experience
- Provide team training and development to increase team member professional growth goals and their overall engagement
- Maximize the utilization of capital resources through strict inventory management, account receivable risk, and operational expenses
- Contribute and support the execution of margin growth
- Leads, through mentoring and training, all sales and account/planning, forecasting, reporting, and CRM sales process utilization for key assigned accounts within territory
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
- 5+ years P&L Management experience required
- com or comparable CRM sales process utilization
- 5+ years of proven successful sales and sales management experience
- Willing to travel up to 75% of the time during the work week (including overnights)
- Familiarity with business planning and financial reports
- Experience using all Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Communication skills to express ideas and concepts verbally, visually and in writing
- Planning and organization to set targets / milestones and follow through on commitments
