The Firm
Established in 2001, Vaughn & Smith, PLLC has earned a reputation as an exceptional real estate and construction litigation firm. Our firm is in the east end of Louisville. We actively support a family-friendly work-life balance while remaining committed to our client's success. Those two goals are not mutually exclusive.
The Candidate
We are seeking a qualified candidate with 0-7 years experience. We look at candidates as whole people, not just ranks and numbers on a resume. We aim to find candidates who can employ solid legal analysis, practical writing skills and effective case management.
We do not need you to begin as a full-fledged litigator; we already have two lead litigation counsels. We need candidates to assist us in litigation support while eventually handling some of their own cases. We are committed to the mentor-mentee team relationship. We always want to leave you with support.
Interview Process
If selected for an interview, we will request a writing sample, a transcript of law school grades and a list of references. We will then conduct an initial 30-minute remote video interview. Our interview will include some questions to you and from you. We are interviewing you, but you should also be interviewing us. The goal is a "good fit" for all participants.
The next part of the process will be a meeting at our office. We will show you around the physical premises and introduce you to your potential team. Some of the distinct advantages of our east-end location are that we occupy the whole building and have convenient on-site parking. We are in the heart of St. Matthews, where shopping and dining options abound.
Compensation & Benefits
Your work team, your work environment, and what you are working on may provide a great deal of job satisfaction, but you also want to be well compensated. We want to do that. Accordingly, we offer a highly competitive pay package for initial hires between $100,000 and $150,000 a year, based on your experience and qualifications.
Our benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off and a Simple IRA matching plan. We also pay your Bar dues.
We have a "dress for your day" policy, and our office is pet-friendly.
