Job Summary
The Next Generation Program Director provides leadership and vision for Susanna Wesley’s ministries and programs geared toward elementary school-age children and their families, including our School-Age Program, which is currently licensed for 90 school-age children in a Before and After School Care, School Days Out, and Summer Camp. The Next Generation Program Director is responsible for program planning, implementation, supervision, and management of staff and volunteers to create experiences and environments for families to find a safe place to belong and grow in the love of God and neighbor.
Qualifications
- Has a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ
- Has a passion for children and families and their spiritual lives
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of executing plans and following through on projects with minimal oversight
- Creative, positive, and innovative in approach and philosophy
- Be willing and able to become Safe Gatherings certified
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must meet state requirements for education, and additional center/school requirements may apply.
- Approved as a Program Director as specified in K.A.R. 28-4-429(e), or meets one of the other listed requirements to meet the Kansas Laws and Regulations for School Age Program Director
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate both weekly and seasonal experiences for children and families
- Develop and execute events and occasions for connection with clear entry points and pathways that lead toward a more profound faith commitment
- Build community and relationships with children, parents, and staff
- Recruit, manage, motivate, and equip staff and volunteers
- Collaborate with other ministry areas to design or deliver programming
- Provide reflection and direction through continual assessment and evaluation
- Ensure the ongoing delivery of a developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the licensed School Age Program with ultimate responsibility for the enrichment, safety, and well-being of all children in care
- Oversee compliance with state and local regulatory agencies through proper maintenance of records, reports, and scheduled visits and maintain ongoing communication with all
- Ensure adherence to applicable health, safety, and licensing standards that KDHE and other local licensing agencies set.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Ensure appropriate welcome and proper orientation for new families
- Oversee the hiring of staff and ensure that all job descriptions are up to date and accurately reflect the scope and responsibilities of the position
- As available, manage funding sources, including tuition, fees, and grants.
- Work with financial personnel for billing, payroll, and an accurate understanding of all financials.
- Oversee planning, purchase, preparation, and serving of breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the facility

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
