Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to accurately complete projects on time.
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions, engineering blueprints, and specifications of welding and fabrication projects.
- Fabricate, repair, modify, and construct metal and steel components.
- Operate welding equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
- Assess equipment, structures, and materials for appropriate welding positions and accuracy.
- Visually inspect weld quality, and use other quality inspection equipment, to confirm compliance to project specifications.
- Accurately measure and mark workpieces using combination squares, tape measures, and other measuring instruments.
- Safely operate cutting tools such as band saws, plasma cutters, and shears.
- Safely operate electric and pneumatic hand tools such as angle grinders, air wands, and belt sanders.
- Maintain welding fixtures and tooling in a suitable working order.
- Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and work area.
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing safety glasses, welding hoods, appropriate gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Necessary Experience:
- At least 3 years GMAW welding experience; NOT including school/certificate program classes.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a welder/fabricator, or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes.
- Strong math skills for determining measurements and calculations.
- Proven GMAW welding experience, and ability to weld in all positions. FCAW and GTAW experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to constructively communicate with fellow team members.
- Demonstrated ability to take and follow direction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to fabricate and construct metal and steel components.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing/shop setting.
