- Answer phone lines, understand patient’s needs and book appropriate appointments
- Record and send patient requests and questions to correct staff for follow up
- Greet patients at check in, confirm patient information and obtain necessary paperwork
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, testing (CT scans, MRIs, referral appointments)
- Pre-certify tests and procedures
- Prepare charts for patient encounters and confirm patient appointments
- Check-out patients, provide paperwork, enter charges, and process payment
- Post payments and reconcile any discrepancies with insurance company and/or patient
- Generate patient letters and referral letters as directed by providers
- Reconcile daily payments and financial reports
- Open and distribute mail
- Maintain neat and orderly patient waiting areas
- Maintain neat and orderly work space
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Medical administrative support
- Patient service experience
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Proficient at keyboarding and with Office365 software
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems and patient inquiries
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
