The Inventory Control Specialist will focus on ensuring accurate inventories on all job sites and facilities; assisting with the development, education, and enforcement of shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures. The focus of the Inventory Specialist is loose items but may include all DRAT recordable assets when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Perform physical count of inventory on job sites and at facilitiesEnsure inventory is stored properly for inventory type (ex: sensitive electronics are temperature controlled)
- Ensure physical counts are recorded in DRAT; reconcile inaccurate information
- Assist in developing shipping, receiving, and inventory proceduresTravel to job sites to teach shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures
- Audit job sites and yards to ensure adherence to shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures
- Virtually assist job sites with updating DRAT
- Work with purchasing to consider fiscally responsible options for shipping current stock or purchasing new
- Once program is established create routine travel schedule to assist in site inventories and additional field education of shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures
- Reconcile actual stock count to computer-generated reports
- Assign assets as needed
- Manage asset reservations
- Be the SME on the loose item inventory module in the Deployed Resources Asset Tracker
- Create reports as necessary

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required
- 1 years of relevant experience required
Skills and Specifications
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
- Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of warehouse/inventory management principles and best practices
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills
- Good research skills, highly organized, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Have a clean driving record, able to drive company vehicles.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no present requirement for supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, tablets, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other presentation materials. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. may occur.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Typical working hours at yards are 7AM-4PM. The ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed is required. Hours on job sites may vary depending on the job site and operational rhythm.
