Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team. As a Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by accurately shipping products and receiving and inspecting incoming shipments. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the contents.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for damages, defects, or discrepancies.
- Unload and load Trucks using forklifts or other equipment.
- Process shipping and product documentation per applicable procedures.
- Prepare and process domestic and international shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs declarations.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Stock received items in designated storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages.
- Perform routine cycle counts.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding shipping and receiving issues.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Comply, encourage, and support all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.
Experience/Education/Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Basi math skills for counting and verifying quantities.
- Knowledge of stock handling procedures and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and order pickers or ability/desire to learn.
- Ability to load and unload shipments safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving process, including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) a plus.
- UPS and FedEx labeling experience.
- Aerospace Manufacturing experience a plus (for Washington location)
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inspection of incoming shipments.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain proper inventory records.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
