Duties
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs
- Provide therapy sessions to patients to improve their speech, language, and swallowing abilities
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Educate patients and their families on techniques and strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills
Requirements
Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field
- Valid state license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to speech and swallowing disorders
- Experience working with patients in a home setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with case management principles and practices in home health care settings
