Summary
Bridges School is a nationally accredited early childhood program located in Cos Cob, CT. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, team-oriented classroom teacher for our Mixed Age Program for three- and four-year-olds. The daily schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am-1:00pm and 8:00am-3:30pm on Wednesdays. Our teachers work in collaborative teams of three teachers. The start date for the 24/25 school year is September 3rd, 2024.

Duties

Implementing an inquiry-based curriculum, guided by the theories of social constructivism and based on developmentally appropriate practices

Documenting the learning process

Communicating with families regularly regarding child's classroom experience and progress across all developmental domains

Conducting parent-teacher conferences twice per year

Engaging thoughtfully and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents

Reflecting on own teaching practice, working toward professional development goals
Requirements
-
Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

One year of experience as a classroom teacher

Familiar with the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the Bank Street approach

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Familiar with NAEYC's Developmentally Appropriate Practices and the CT ELDS and DOTS
