JOB DESCRIPTION
The Wellness 360 clinic located within UT Health San Antonio's School of Nursing provides primary care for adult and pediatric patients, as well as other specialized care as behavioral health, nutrition counseling and occupational health for employees, students, and local families. The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for directing and managing occupational health and related campus-wide programs and assists in developing and implementing protocols.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides nursing care for occupational injuries and illnesses, including emergency care and referrals, based upon assessments, diagnosis, and medical directives.
- Assists with obtaining health and work history, interpreting results and making appropriate referrals for positive findings.
- Participates in the implementation and administration of healthcare programs that enhance wellness through disease and accident prevention.
- Maintains record keeping system that meet legal requirements and ensures confidentiality.
- Maintains computer-based tracking system and compiles required data, reports and records for contract and grant metrics.
- Assists with department billings, invoices and reports.
- Coordinates cases between health care providers and the contract company.
- Serves as a liaison for patients, health care providers and contract company.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated sound decision-making ability.
- Ability to proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations.
- Knowledge of clinical issues related to occupational health.
- Knowledge of occupational health computer programs.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience working in a hospital setting is highly preferred.
EDUCATION:
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Current Texas RN license.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLSThree (3) years of professional nursing experience in area of specialization is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.17 - $37.77 per hour
