Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is seeking a flexible Hotel Restaurant Bartender.

Reports to: Restaurant Manager
Job Status: Shift/Flexible
Job Summary: The Hotel Restaurant Bartender is responsible for greeting all patrons and providing information about menu items including specials and recommendations, serving drinks ordered and properly billing patrons.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Takes meal and drink orders from customers
- Serves meals/beverages to patrons, enters orders into Point-of-Sales (POS) system, and reconciles bank/drawer
- Follows hotel’s cash handling policies
- Ensures work space is always clean and free of debris
- Greets and treats guests cordially and respectfully
- Clears, cleans and sets up bar area after patrons leave, implementing appropriate sanitation procedures
- Assists with bar inventory as needed
- Adhere to proper service standards
- Reads and makes daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management
Education and Experience
- High School or equivalent education required
- 2 years bartending experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of specialty cocktails and cocktail terms (i.e. neat, on the rocks), the menu and its ingredients and of day/evening specials
- Must be familiar with the layout of the hotel
- Guest and quality oriented
- Always conduct business honestly and fairly
- Manages time and pays attention to detail
- Displays a positive attitude, even under pressure
- Exemplifies the culture of authentic hospitality
- Always be aware and attentive to guest needs
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid US Virgin Islands Health card
- Valid Serv-Safe Credentials
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have a flexible schedule for rotational shifts.
- Must follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Prior experience in hospitality preferred.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Customer service oriented.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to stand, lift and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
- Basic Math Skills required.
