Experience and Education
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
· Minimum of six (6) years of experience in medical device software engineering in Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
· Demonstrated success in a role that developed software requirements and launched EEG software products required.
Job Summary
The Software Engineer and Network Senior Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining medical software programs and hardware solutions that align with user needs and networks. The duties include meeting with internal and external stakeholders and clients to gather user requirements, strategize ideas for beneficial software enhancements, and coordinate with IT professionals to help solve new and ongoing problems. The duties also include server, data, and cloud management to ensure achievement of system service levels. The software engineer must also have a thorough understanding of computer systems, EEG hardware and software interoperability, and be able to recognize any hardware limitations that could impact software design.
Job Duties
· Oversee, manage, and maintain the Stratus EEG network architecture and technology housed in the United States, including on-site maintenance, patches and hardware updates.
· Design and maintain the Stratus EEG cloud architecture. Specify and select servers and networking infrastructure underpinning the cloud, considering performance, availability, backups etc. Create and manage virtual machines, balance load.
· Identify potential security risks across the network infrastructure and recommend solutions to protect the integrity of Stratus platforms. Additionally, create and document the disaster recovery plan. Routinely test the disaster recovery.
· Cooperate with Kvikna software development team, in order to reach the optimal design from the cloud deployment point of view, including performance and cost.
· Manage and lead of Stratus EEG proprietary software and Kvikna Medical software integration and technical support for global partners and distributors, but predominantly located in the US. Document each aspect of the system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance.
· Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. Manage the integration of Stratus EEG software, hardware, and third-party applications.
· Deploy sustainable software, system, and product upgrades. Evaluates user feedback and recommend upgrades for existing systems and programs.
· Provide input and guidance on Stratus EEG software development cycles and custom applications.
· Serve as the technical subject matter expert for one or more Stratus EEG software features, identifying process issues and recommending corrective measures. Provide written knowledge transfer materials as needed.
· Fully participate in all Stratus EEG software and hardware development, testing, and implementation processes. Ensure continued functionality of a program during maintenance and testing of software.
· Manage and lead data utilization reporting for the Stratus EEG brand of products.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in a regulated industry managing cloud-based applications and servers
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proven ability with analysis and critical thinking skills to determine and assess the needs of the user and then create software to meet the requirements.
· Demonstrated strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence people, without having direct authority
· Strong analytical and problem- solving skills
· Platforms/OS/Servers (e.g. Windows Server, Linux/Unix, Apache, Tomcat, etc.)
· Experience writing Powershell scripts
· Knowledge of virtualization, e.g., Azure Stack HCI, Hyper-V
· Experience managing AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
· SQL skills, writing queries, etc.
· Knowledge of Microsoft failover clustering is preferred
· Relevant Microsoft certifications are preferred
Reporting
This role will report to the Stratus Software Solutions business lead and also have a dotted line to the head of Kvikna Medical Development and the head of Stratus IT.
