Responsibilities
-
Provide direct care to patients in accordance with existing policies and procedures
-
Ensure that patient charts are prepared properly before patient visits
-
Effectively room patients and collect all relevant and necessary information for providers to make informed decisions
-
Contribute to the assessment of patient’s health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data
-
Work effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc.

Complete pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement

Communicate and interact with all customers (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians) in a positive and supportive manner
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
-
Must maintain BLS certification; and, if required, maintain training in venipuncture.

Technical training in the following medical equipment: AED, autoclave, BP cuffs (adult, infant, and pediatric), colposcopy, cryo unit, disposable equipment (gloves, goggles, gowns, etc), EKG machine, glycosometer, nebulizer, nitrogen cylinder, O2 cylinder, pulmonary function machine, pulse oximeter, scale (adult and infant), spirometer, stethoscope, thermometer, wheelchair, and woods lamp.
Preferred Job Requirements:

Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution

Registered or nationally certified Medical Assistant
