Job Description – System Engineer II
This is a full-time onsite position which requires working with clients that utilize technology in their personal or professional lives and have the need for support with that technology. The position is to provide clients with quality and timely IT service for businesses. The position is designed to present InTech as the client’s expert which fills the role of a fully functional IT position. This is not a remote position and work will be performed from our main office or onsite at our clients as scheduled.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary job duties are as follows (others may not be listed)
Systems Engineer II
- Develop, maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Implement, troubleshoot and perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Utilize specialized software to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
- Analyze network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
- Research new technologies by attending seminars, reading trade articles, or taking classes, and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies.
- Analyze equipment performance records to determine the need for repair or replacement.
- Support for voice services and equipment, such as private branch exchange, voice mail system, and telecom system.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements for the client.
- Document client networks and maintain up to date information in the document to be able to allow other technicians to assist competently with unfamiliar networks.
- Implement and maintain VoIP systems, administer end user changes and features. Troubleshoot functional aspects of the phone system through the admin console and other methods available.
- Have a solid working knowledge of A/V and security camera systems.
- Have a solid working knowledge of Biometric systems.
- Have 5+ years of advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Have 5+ Years of advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Network Permissions/Group Policies. 5+ Years
- Have 5+ years of advanced knowledge of business networking topologies which include VLANs, network infrastructure, cabling, switches, wireless, and fiber.
- Have advanced knowledge in VOIP communications technology such as routing, SIP and trunks.
- QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of job experience in the Information Technology field (education does not count)
- Certifications are not necessary but are always taken into consideration.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPosition at times may require some heavy lifting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is an exempt salary position that might require after hours or weekend work. The employee will also be expected to use their own judgement if after hours work needs to be performed to finish projects, duties or inventory.
