Salt is a café on the Oregon Coast in Lincoln City, OR. Salt employs a crew of great people that have a love for good food, are detail oriented, willing to work hard and that want to make a positive impact to their work environment and community. Our small, close knit staff is creative, driven, skilled and dedicated.
The Front of House Manager of Salt oversees daily operations. It is a full time position 30 - 40 hours a week, $20 an hour plus tips (avg $8/hr), which averages to $28/hr. The position includes a monthly attendance bonus, also. One year minimum. Salt serves breakfast and lunch, Stumptown coffee, craft cocktails, local beer, wine, Tillamook ice cream milkshakes, real fruit smoothies, Steven Smith Tea and more. We have a large array of handmade retail items including local artist's work, artisan snacks and home-goods. Our café is fast paced. This position has room for creativity and growth.
Shifts generally include working as a barista, taking orders from a line of customers, making espresso drinks to order, mixing cocktails and sanitizing tables & facing retail. Additionally, you will be overseeing employees and working closely with ownership to make Salt the absolute best that it can be.
The FOH Manager position includes ordering, training staff, hiring, firing, disciplinary action if needed, meeting with staff in a group setting and individually, evaluating performance, problem solving, interacting with customers on a managerial level and making sure day to day operations are running smoothly and per procedures and guidelines. Exemplary customer service is required and you must work well within a team, women-led environment. Attention to detail and cleanliness is of the utmost importance.
Specifics:
Our Front of House manager starts the day with getting any groceries needed and having a morning meeting with staff. Generally, the FOH Manager works about 25 hours a week in regular shifts and shows coworkers how to perform by example and by coaching in the moment. Daily duties also include making sure our staff has what it needs so that they need to be successful. The Manager writes the weekly schedule, has a weekly meeting with ownership and has a monthly one-on-one meeting with each FOH employee. The manager communicates directly with all staff and is the first point of contact for anyone needing coverage. If they're unable to find coverage, the manager must help cover other's shifts. The Manager trains new employees and critically plans training based on individual's needs. Exemplary customer service is a requirement of this position. Our goal is to give the manager 2 days off in a row each week but they are required to make sure staff is set up for success and to be in contact if an issue arrises. This position may be open to 2 people in a co-manager setting if beneficial.
We are currently open 8am to 5pm. We are flexible with scheduling but weekend availability is required.
