The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, monitoring and revising production plans, work orders and shipments to ensure efficient distribution of products to satisfy customer needs. This includes working with bills of lading, plant production reporting, purchase orders, production incentive calculations and reporting, and other tasks to ensure appropriate materials are ordered and available for production processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze production specifications, plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine requirements. Coordinate, schedule, expedite, and monitor outside processing and internal service scheduling jobs.

Obtain quotes/estimates from outside vendors and maintain inventory levels for plants and jobs.

Review and maintain master schedule to establish sequence of each operation to meet shipping dates. Plan and prepare production schedules for manufacturing of commercial products; expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

Plan and prioritize manufacture operations and jobs to ship in conjunction with customer needs and schedule. Identify customer requirements and disseminate internally/externally and to suppliers.

Generate production reports, maintain purchase orders, prepare shipping documents, post the weekly production schedule, and make revisions when necessary. Complete bills of lading for scrap material.

Communicate lead times to impacted departments to ensure proper planning; confer with Plant Manager and other internal partners to determine status of assigned projects.

Make recommendations to improve Planning, Scheduling, and Processing efficiencies to minimize expenditures.

Communicate and coordinate cooperatively and effectively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships.

Process daily incentive calculations and prepare weekly and monthly incentive summaries.

Other duties as needed or assigned by the Plant Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to effectively address complex problems through analysis, evaluation, and implementing solutions consistent with business objectives. Ability to identify risks and implement actions to mitigate them.

Ability to identify customer requirements to flow them down internally/externally and to suppliers.

Ability to communicate and interchange thoughts, opinions, and information with supervisors, coworkers, and/or subordinates verbally or in writing.

Ability to manage time effectively and coordinate and schedule multiple activities simultaneously.

Understanding of general mathematical principles, techniques, practices relevant to calculation, and data collection.

Ability to learn new computer systems and reporting requirements, as well as new processes for effective business operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Two or four-year college degree or equivalent experience.

2-4 years of experience, preferably in supply chain or distribution in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of transportation principles and regulations governing the movement/shipment of product and material.
