Staff Accountant

Daily Duties:
- Submit Invoices to customers via their preferred method, usually emailed PDF’s
- Process daily cash receipts from mail and electronic receipts
- Track cash receipts / disbursements in QuickBooks
- Respond to all customer requests involving their account
- Review customer accounts/AR aging
- Scan various documents daily – electronic filing
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Process A/P
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
- Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
- Comprehend and administer expense accounts and cost centers
- Comprehend compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
Monthly Duties:
- Close and Balance Accounts Receivable
- Generate various month end reports
- Basic Account Reconciliations, including company credit cards
- Company Credit Reporting; new applications, credit holds
- Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications/ experience that are required:
- Good communication skills
- 2-3 years of substantiated experience as a Staff Accountant
- Excellent grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting procedures
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Excellent analytical ability and high attention to detail
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function independently and collaboratively

Job Type: Full-time Exempt, reports to Head of Finance
Pay: Salary, $70,000 - $75,000 annually commensurate with your skill and experience
Education:
- High School Diploma minimum
- Bachelor Degree preferred / College Degree preferred
- CPA not required, but some Accounting coursework preferred
Work Location:
- Seattle, WA
- Not a hybrid office, but will allow for some time to work from home with manager approval.
