JOB TITLE: Manual Machinist
REPORTS TO: Shop Foreman/Leadman
LOCATION: Houston, TX
STATUS: Non-Exempt (hourly)
OVERVIEW: Machine parts according to drawing specifications with minimal supervision. Help drive Shop productivity and profitability by working closely with shop team, leadman, and shop foreman to continually increase efficiency and make improvements in the workplace. Exude outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers and help drive the business.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience: 5+ years verifiable experience manual lathe & mill machine operator
Education: High School graduate or equivalent
ISO 900:2015 trained (Preferred)
Skills: Mechanical aptitude
Detail-oriented
Meticulous
Interpersonal
JOB DUTIES:
1. Practice basic and complicated machining procedures to ensure personal and coworker safety and efficient operation.
2. Set up and efficiently operate manual lathe and mill with minimal supervision.
3. Provide accurate documentation on time cards and work orders.
4. Keep machines and work areas clean and organized.
5. Provide an adequate set of O.D., I.D. and depth micrometers up to 6".
6. Interpret manufacturing drawings with minimal supervision.
7. Machine parts for work orders according to drawing specifications with normal supervision.
8. Inspect parts for conformance to drawing before sending to Quality Control Department.
9. Maintain an acceptable scrap level.
10. Understand and conform to company policies.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
