POSITION: Welder
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
Performs a variety of welding functions. Highly proficient with various types of welding equipment.

Read and interpret blueprints to determine specific welding requirements

Use a welding machine to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified
-
Inspect welding machine, cables, and other welding equipment
-
Determine the weld needed, position, jig needed per weld specifications and material thickness
-
Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specific depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of puddle.

Determine which process should be used for moving raw materials or finished product in any given situation

Examine weld for bead size, brakes, or cracks, and make recommended repairs

Clean and grinds excess weld, slag, or splatter
-
Cleans, grinds, or degrease parts
-
Operates manlifts and cranes

Other duties as assigned/directed by supervisor

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
1-year minimum experience as a welder required
-
Successfully pass applicable weld tests as required
-
Adheres to AWS D1.1 standards
-
Adheres to work safely standards and look out for the safety of the team, Maintain a clean and hazard free workspace. Use identified PPE as required

Regular and reliable attendance, consistent high-quality standards, and sustained productivity

Detail-oriented with ability to follow work instructions and/or take direction from others

Collaborates with team to address and resolve issues

Excellent hand-eye coordination

Ability to frequent, reach, lift, sit, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, squat, bend, and balance
