Responsible for all material functions including but not limited to purchasing, receiving, inventory control in a manufacturing environment. Design and implement procurement and inventory control systems consistent with selected software, lean manufacturing and Demand Flow Management (DMF) systems. Manage supply base to ensure lowest cost of ownership for purchased products and services. Responsible for all transactions and documentation affecting the accuracy of the physical inventory, procurement, and the ERP system
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Procure appropriate volume and variety of materials, services and supplies to meet company production, new product development and office and shipping supplies within budgets and the strategic growth plans for the company
· Negotiate changes with vendors when order levels decrease or increase unexpectedly
· Select and recommend suppliers, confers with vendors to obtain product information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
· Determine and maintain economic order quantities with suppliers and develop and implement vendor managed inventory programs with vendors when appropriate
· Implement cost reduction and lean principles in all aspects of material and production planning.
· Obtain comparative quotes for multiple sourcing and negotiate long term agreements to reduce costs
· Input purchase orders in designated system, make purchases of commodities or goods where financial impact is great, follow up on open orders, update delivery status reports and maintain the accuracy of system.
· Reconcile non-conformance and discrepancies reports associated with counts, pricing and incorrect information with vendor base and coordinate the return for replacement or rework in the case of outside process issues.
· Monitor and maintain inventory master files in the system to ensure correct cost and lead times are current
· Coordinate with production supervisor to execute planning in support of manufacturing schedule requirements
· Reconcile with accounting, discrepancies on prices, quantities, units of measure, for received items, open purchase orders and invoiced items.
· Record cycle count variances into system.
· Help out with cycle counting and year end inventory
· Take lead on year end inventory to ensure accuracy and efficiency

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION
· BA/BS in a related field preferred (relevant work experience in lieu of degree will be considered).
· CPIM certification preferred
· Familiarity with a Lean Manufacturing environment preferred
· Minimum 3 years manufacturing industry experience preferred
· Knowledge of worldwide supply chain resources for components, manufacturing processes, services, and transportation logistics
· Demonstrated computer skills including, Excel, and Microsoft Word
· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
