POSITION SUMMARY
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of all instruments and maintaining the sterilization equipment. This person is a member of the OB/GYN clinical team and performs duties and related support according to established policies and protocols of CHC OB/GYN department. This position reports to the OB/GYN nurse manager.

PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES
· Clean and sterilize all instruments and equipment.
· Prepare instruments for use and maintain clean work stations.
· Keep sterilization and equipment logs up-to-date.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Adheres to safety policies by wearing personal protection equipment.
· Follow specific company and OSHA procedures when handling hazardous materials.
· Assist with restocking exam rooms of processed instruments.
· Identify document and report equipment malfunction and failures to supervisor.
· Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES
· Professionalism to include daily contact all OB/GYN staff.
· Basic computer skills
· Attention to detail and able to multi-task.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Sterilization Certification or 1 year of sterilization experience.
Experience
· High level of communication and customer service skills
· Attention to detail
· Knowledge of OSHA guidelines preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
