Our fast paced ENT and Pulmonology office is in need of an experienced medical office receptionist. You must have a commitment to customer service and accurate work in a busy office environment.
You should be comfortable with Medical appointment scheduling and patient registration process along with a strong understanding of medical insurance plans and performing front and back-office duties in a HIPAA compliant environment. Previous experience with Allscripts Practice Management system is a definite plus.

JOB SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Operates telephone switchboard to answer, screen, and forward calls, providing information, taking messages, and scheduling appointments.
Greets and assists patients arriving for appointments in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Provides patients with required forms, instructs, and assists them in completion of the forms as needed.
Provides information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization and services provided.
Accurate data entry to include patient’s demographic and insurance information.
Verifies that all patient information is accurate and complete, that all blanks are filled; includes insurance and bill-to information, and authorization for release of information at each visit.
Directs billing inquires and payment plan arrangements to the billing office when applicable.
Receives payments and records receipts for services.
Balances day sheet and money box at the beginning and end of each shift.
Schedules patients accurately utilizing an electronic appointment schedule, working to maximize patient load, and verifying eligibility on all patients. Follows appropriate guidelines to ensure authorization obtained for appropriate services when scheduling new Workers Compensation patients.
Transmits information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or fax machine.
Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork with accurate entry of information.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Possesses a strong customer service focus
Excellent organizational skills
Able to generate, maintain and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
Experience with EHR systems, and/or ability to learn and master the practice’s scheduling system
Must be proficient computer keyboarding skills as well as Microsoft Word and Outlook
