Position Overview:
As a Product Quality Engineer, you will oversee New Product Development, ensuring quality and performance through thorough reviews, testing, and risk mitigation. You will optimize processes using FMEA, ANOVA, and DOE, lead continuous improvement projects, manage process improvement initiatives, design efficient workflows, troubleshoot quality issues, analyze data, and train teams to ensure product reliability and enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Product Development: As a Product Quality Engineer, you will oversee New Product Development by managing the Phase Gate process, ensuring quality and performance, mitigating risks, and qualifying products to meet standards. You will develop qualification plans, conduct testing, analyze results, and work with teams for a smooth transition to production. You will also perform Reliability Analyses to predict product lifespan and performance.
- Process Development and Optimization: As a Product Quality Engineer, you will perform process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential failure points in manufacturing. You will develop and implement optimization strategies to reduce waste, boost productivity, and enhance product quality. Proficiency in Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Design of Experiments (DOE) is required to investigate process variables, optimize processes, minimize variation, and maximize process capability.
- Continuous Improvement and Value Engineering: A fundamental aspect of this role is your leadership and support in continuous improvement projects and Value Engineering. Your focus will be on streamlining processes, minimizing COPQ, maximizing OEE, enhancing productivity and quality, and increasing customer satisfaction through systematic problem-solving and process optimization using 6 Sigma and other improvement methods.
- Project Management: Lead and manage process improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration on improvement initiatives. Track project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Workflow Design and Implementation: Design and implement efficient workflows, layouts, and workstations to optimize manufacturing processes. Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work practices and improve productivity.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: As a Product Quality Engineer, your role is crucial in assisting investigations of product quality issues reported from manufacturing, testing, or customer feedback. You will analyze the root cause and coordinate with relevant teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions. Your ability to effectively document and communicate findings and resolutions to all stakeholders is vital in resolving issues and maintaining product quality.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze production and quality data to identify trends, patterns, and improvement opportunities. Prepare and present detailed reports on process performance, quality metrics, and improvement initiatives. Use data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor other teams on new processes, workflows, and quality improvement techniques. Assist in developing training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance
Qualifications:
- Education: BSIE or MSIE or a degree in a relevant physical science is required.
- Experience: 0 - 4 years of professional experience
- Technical Skills: Fluency in quality control principles, statistical analysis, and process optimization techniques. Fluency in statistical programs such (JMP, Minitab, SAS, …) is desirable. Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or related quality improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Personal skills: Must be a enthusiastic and cooperative with a positive behavior. Must have the ability to follow and give instructions, strong attention to detail, strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues effectively. Emotional maturity and nuanced interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams are fundamental to this role.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required. The candidate must be able to quickly understand, summarize, and communicate complex issues and discussions. The candidate must also thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

- The salary range for this position is $60,000 ~ $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
