Balancing Life & Kids, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 organization that provides trauma-informed services to at-risk individuals with the aim of enhancing emotional stability, development, and strength. The organization serves both children and adults, with programs tailored to both groups respectively.
BLK serves both Pennsylvania and Georgia, and serves over 5,000 people annually.
With curated programs, events, and services, our goal is to decrease community violence, one healed person at a time.

Job Summary: The certified teacher for early intervention students plays a crucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to young learners who may have developmental delays or disabilities. This position involves creating tailored educational plans, implementing strategies to address individualized learning needs, collaborating with parents and other professionals, and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with parents, special education coordinators, and other professionals to assess students' needs and develop comprehensive IEPs that outline academic, developmental, and behavioral goals.
- Deliver Specialized Instruction: Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, communication, and adaptive behaviors using evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations to meet the diverse needs of early intervention students.
- Implement Differentiated Instruction: Modify curriculum materials and instructional methods to accommodate varying learning styles, abilities, and developmental levels, ensuring that all students have access to appropriate educational opportunities.
- Monitor Progress and Assessments: Conduct ongoing assessments, observations, and progress monitoring to track students' growth, identify areas of need, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress toward IEP goals.
- Provide Support Services: Collaborate with related service providers, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavior specialists, to coordinate integrated support services and ensure a holistic approach to students' educational and developmental needs.
- Facilitate Family Involvement: Establish positive and collaborative relationships with families, providing regular communication, resources, and support to empower parents as partners in their child's education and development.
- Participate in Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices, research-based interventions, and relevant legislation in the field of early intervention and special education. Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Maintain Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, special education laws, and district policies related to the provision of services for early intervention students, including the timely completion of required documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification/license in special education or early childhood education
- Knowledge of developmental milestones, disabilities, and evidence-based interventions for young children
- Experience working with early intervention populations and implementing individualized educational plans
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and effectively manage behavior
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, equity, and advocacy for students with disabilities

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
