Role
New Song Music Academy (NSMA) - a private music lesson company teaching students of all ages to become fully developed musicians - is currently looking for ambitious, passionate and dedicated Artist in Residence to join our rapidly expanding company.
Artist in Residence (AIR)is a multi-instrumentalist with an emphasis in piano that serves as a private lesson teacher. The AIR is responsible for choosing performance repertoire, directing ensembles and developing performance programming in accordance with the overall school's initiatives. The candidate will be a self-starter, an effective communicator and enjoy collaborating with other faculty.

Responsibilities
● Provide private music lessons (at student’s residence’s).
● Follow standard lesson formats and curriculum and improve with updates.
● Attend and participate in student performances, showcasing your passion for music as an example to your students.
● Collaborate with other faculty members (though most lessons occur individually, we are a team!)
● Directing New Song Young Artists and other ensembles while developing performance programming in accordance with the overall school's initiatives.
● Participate in faculty meetings and outings at least once per month.
● Keep a record of students progress in your NSMA Student Roster updated daily.
● Keep track of your NSMA Google Calendar and update as necessary.
● Choose fun and engaging music with both students and faculty to play at performances.
● Build rapport with each of your students and cultivate a deep love for music with their families.
Requirements
● Must live in the Dallas, TX area or be willing to relocate/commute
● Must have a passion for music & teaching children
● Has a patient heart to teach beginners and break down concepts.
● Knows how to sight-read sheet music as well as play lead sheets for contemporary music.
● Must be well organized and have attention to detail.
● Must have reliable transportation.
● Must have effective communication & interpersonal skills and like people.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
