Position Summary:
The Driver/Fleet and Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company's limousine and bus fleet. This includes managing drivers, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and recruiting new drivers. The role demands a proactive individual who can maintain high standards of safety, service, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all vehicles in the fleet.
- Coordinate vehicle repairs, maintenance schedules, and inspections.
- Ensure all vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and meet company standards.
- Implement and monitor fuel efficiency programs.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including DOT and state-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of driver certifications, licenses, and training.
- Conduct regular audits and safety checks on vehicles and drivers.
- Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Driver Management:
- Supervise and support drivers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Schedule and coordinate driver assignments, ensuring optimal use of resources.
- Monitor driver performance, including adherence to schedules and customer service standards.
- Provide ongoing training and development for drivers.
Recruitment:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified drivers.
- Conduct interviews, background checks, and reference checks.
- Manage the onboarding process for new drivers, including training and orientation.
- Maintain a pipeline of potential candidates to ensure staffing levels are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of DOT and TLC regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in fleet management software and other relevant technologies.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
