Job Description
Diametryx Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with expertise in the broadly defined area of materials chemistry. Responsibilities include providing subject matter expertise and experimental contributions in developing stimuli-responsive, color-changing particles and materials. This position will require the candidate to employ a variety of laboratory techniques to create new-to-the-world compositions of matter and to optimize those materials to yield functional technologies. An ideal candidate should be interested in a career devoted to research and development that leverages strong lab-based and leadership skills and should be interested in taking technologies from concept to prototype to product.

Role-Specific Requirements
- A Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in chemistry, materials chemistry, polymer science, chemical engineering, materials science, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 18 months of relevant post-Ph.D. experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience and demonstrated track record of success (e.g. via peer-reviewed publications) in materials chemistry, colloid and/or surface chemistry.
- Basic knowledge of inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and materials chemistry.• Solid understanding of techniques for nanoparticle and microparticle characterization.
- Ability to work independently in the design and execution of R&D tasks.

- Successful candidates must be prepared to work onsite 4 days a week.

Responsibilities
- Perform and carry out design, synthesis, and testing activities to meet established project objectives.
- Evaluate and interpret data, performance, and deliverables.
- Provide recommendations to senior management regarding results, deliverables, progress, and challenges.
- Identify and eliminate hurdles to successful project completion.
- Conduct special projects as assigned.
- Manage external interactions (vendors, collaborators, customers).
- Participate in technical and/or project reviews and present findings as appropriate.
- Employ creativity to solve open-ended problems while assuring precision in experiments.
- Practice technically sound, carefully thought-out decision-making.
- Engage with leadership to determine future R&D directions.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of patents and non-dilutive grant applications.
