Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Take and record patients' vital signs
- Perform patient assessments and document medical history
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
Requirements:
- Dental assisting certification or relevant experience
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays
- Knowledge of dental systems and terminology
- Ability to perform patient assessments and document medical information accurately
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of infection control procedures to maintain a safe working environment
