The Social Media and Marketing Specialist will work to enhance the College’s brand visibility through the use of social media, advertising, and captivating content development to market to its various audiences. The position will promote College offerings to prospective students, support academic programs, and actively engage with community members while supporting the overall mission and strategic goals of Nicolet College. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role. This position requires regular and punctual on-site presence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media
· Manage and curate content for Nicolet College social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn), including content plans, calendaring, scheduling, and engagement.
· Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement, and follower growth.
· Monitor and report on analytics and post/campaign engagement.
· Stay current on social media trends, identifying opportunities for strategic content creation and platform enhancement.
· Support social media initiatives with compelling narratives, creative videos, and event photography.
Video Production and Photography
- Collaborate with the marketing, instructional effectiveness, academic, and other internal teams to produce creative and engaging content for online courses, and promotion of student programs, special events, and college happenings.
- Oversee all aspects of video production, including concept and storyboard development, location scouting, talent acquisition, scheduling, lighting, filming, editing, and archiving.
- Film in a variety of styles, from marketing promotions to instructional videos, testimonials, interviews, and documentary projects, both on set, on campus, and on location. Must work well as a team and independently to interview and coach on-screen talent.
- Manage, maintain, and organize equipment including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, and accessories.
- Research and implement new media technologies, based on user feedback and industry trends.
Advertising
· Develop comprehensive advertising strategies to effectively target audiences and promote College programs, events, and enrollment.
· Collaborate with internal marketing team, advertising agencies, or vendors to create compelling ad campaigns across various media channels.
· Monitor and analyze advertising performance metrics, optimizing campaigns for maximum return on investment (ROI).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of social media platforms and of new or emerging technology, including the ability to analyze potential value to the College, to recommend and implement new initiatives, and to discontinue ineffective efforts.
- Demonstrated success working in a social media capacity.
- Ability to create platform driven content while maintaining College brand and voice.
- Ability to work professionally and collegially within a culture that seeks excellence and emphasizes teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills and judgment, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, maintain deadlines, and communicate with team members to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong writing, proofing, and editing skills with ability to self-check work, and the work of others, to maintain College standards and ensure accuracy.
- Proficiency using creative and video/photo editing software, such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Hootsuite (or similar).
- Proficiency using professional video equipment, such a digital video camera, DSLR cameras, lenses, devices, microphones, audio, and lighting equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in communications, journalism, marketing, video production, digital marketing, or related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in communications, journalism, social media advertising, and/or videography.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing, video production, digital marketing, advertising, or related field.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision.
Compensation:
The typical starting pay range for this position is $ 26.62- 30.42 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Includes a comprehensive benefits package.
