History:
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years, but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20, and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reconcile assigned bank accounts

Calculate and book assigned monthly expense accruals

Maintain balance sheet schedules to ensure they reconcile to the Trial Balance Report

Investigate and record adjustments/reclasses to ensure compliance with GAAP
-
Review GL Account and Department coding made by the AP Coordinator on vendor bills
-
Serve as a backup when AP Coordinator is on PTO
-
Assist in the preparation of financial reports

Perform GL Account analysis to ensure internal controls are adhered to

Assist with annual audit and cost report

Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as directed by the CFO

Position will report directly to the CFO
Requirements:
Experience:

A year of accounting experience, with demonstrated proficiency in general ledger accounting. Recent college graduates with at least one successfully completed accounting internships.

Experience with an accounting software application (e.g. Quickbooks, NetSuile, Multiview,Great Plains, Sage).

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
