Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and organized combined Internal medicine and Med spa office MA/Receptionist to join our team. As a MA/ Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations in the medical office. This is a vital role in our healthcare facility, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities includes the following but not limited to;
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic medical records system
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls, screen and direct calls to the appropriate person or department
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Verify insurance information
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Taking care of patient in back office (vials, assist doctor, perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injections).
- Phlebotomy experience is a must.
Qualifications:
- Certificate in medical assistanting
- Previous experience working in a medical office and Med spa or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using phone systems and office equipment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in stressful situations, such as handling emergency room calls or upset patients
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient privacy
