Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to help maintain our large campus.
Brethren Village offers primarily Monday through Friday, dayshift work hours, plus full benefits coverage to our Maintenance Techs.
Minimum requirements include formal training in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, or another mechanical or electrical field; at least 1 year of professional work experience as a Maintenance or HVAC Technician; a valid PA driver's license (must have had a valid driver's license for at least the prior 2 years), proof of personal auto insurance, and a driving record free from excessive or serious violations including DUI.
The Maintenance Technician will work with our talented Maintenance team to help keep Brethren Village's commercial and residential systems, equipment, and appliances operating effectively, efficiently, and safely. The Maintenance Technician will repair and maintain facilities, equipment, and appliances, including within Residents' rooms, apartments, and homes; in our onsite healthcare facilities; in our commercial kitchens; in mechanical rooms and the central utility plant; in offices; and in public areas of the Brethren Village campus.
Work Schedule:

Full-time, benefits eligible, 40 hours per week: hours will typically be 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Technician will be expected to report to work during off-hours on occasion, due to urgent or emergency situations.

The Maintenance Technician will serve on-call some weeks, on a rotating schedule (approximately 1 week out of every 6 weeks).
Core Requirements:

a high school diploma or G.E.D., at least age 18

Additional Requirements for This Position:

at least 1 year of professional work experience as a Maintenance or HVAC Technician; prior work experience in a healthcare setting or other large campus setting is desirable

a valid PA driver's license (must have had a valid driver's license for at least the prior 2 years), proof of personal auto insurance, and a driving record free from excessive or serious violations including DUI

ability to independently complete basic repairs and perform preventative maintenance with respect to appliances, equipment, and systems
-
ability and willingness to safely complete all work assignments; understanding of applicable OSHA and EPA standards

thorough knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques necessary to complete a variety of jobs; the ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools properly and safely
-
ability to climb ladders; carry and lift objects; reach overhead; stoop and bend; push and pull carts and objects; shovel snow and safely operate a plow; and stand and walk frequently during the shift

ability to write clearly in order to complete documentation and regulatory records / reports; able to accurately enter and retrieve data from computer
-
flexibility with respect to work schedule, including ability to serve on-call, report to work on weekends if needed, and report during inclement weather
