As a senior software architect at the Department of State, Bureau of Global Talent Management (GTM), this professional is an important technical leader who ensures that the software systems and solutions in the department deliver on the mission of talent management nationwide. The Senior Software Architect will be a partner in interaction with stakeholders to describe business needs, design technical architecture, and serve as the advisor on the best practices in software development and integration.
Responsibilities:
- Exercises independent judgment when analyzing and designing complex information technology solutions.
- Designs solutions based on business needs and technical considerations.
- Design and develop databases, relational databases, Data Warehouses and Multidimensional Databases.
- Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
- Functionally responsible for providing database expertise to consultants, seniors, and staff in order to implement or facilitate database development.
- Serves as senior technical architect or advisor for strategies for designing and implementing complex systems involving information processing, communications, and networking.
- Knowledgeable in state-of-the-art or merging technologies and methodologies.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experienced in designing technical applications on computer systems, and demonstrated ability to formulate specifications for computer programmers to use in coding, testing, and debugging of computer programs.
- Must be familiar with applicable standards.
- General experience includes increasing responsibility in information systems design and management. Well-developed leadership qualities and experience.
