Position Summary: Electrical Crew - This position is with the Electrical Department of MPS Egg Farms at Bryan, Texas. MPS is one of the largest producers of shell eggs in the U.S. As such, an ability to work efficiently and ethically around poultry is critical. This position provides an opportunity to learn a skilled trade and acquire knowledge of lighting and outlets, motor controls and automation, and other associated areas. Our goal is to foster careers rather than just another job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- This is a quick-paced general construction and maintenance position helping with the installation and servicing of electrical systems. This work is often both physically and mentally challenging.
- Responsible for ensuring that a clean, tidy, and hazard free working environment is maintained to defined standards.
- Must follow all company rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety at all times.
- Required to work productively in a team environment and assist in any areas or operations as assigned.
- Required to attend meetings, training, and educational classes as needed.

- Must perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Prior work experience in a similar role is helpful, but is not required. However, previous use of hand and power tools is a plus.
- The work is performed on first shift with occasional odd hours.
- Workdays often start between 6:00 and 7am, and 50+ hour work weeks are occasional. Due to the non-stop nature of livestock, some work may need to be performed on third shift.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule is required at times, which may include weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task. Dependability, reliability, and a solid work ethic are keys to success in this position.
- The ability to follow and written instructions in English is required, and bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Working conditions often include dusty/dirty environments with some exposure to hot/cold weather extremes. There will be many work days involving chicken dust, feathers, and the presence of manure. There is some exposure to loud, noisy, and wet environments.
- Measures are taken to ensure the safety and health of employees. This includes hard hats, ear and eye protection, gloves, fall protection, respirators, and others as needed.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination is required.
- Able to push, bend, reach, stoop, squat, and pull continuously in awkward positions
- Able to walk continually on a daily basis
- Able to perform all aspects of this job (repetitive movements, standing for long periods, up to 75 pounds)
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare - The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires the strict daily adherence to established biosecurity processes and procedures before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear coverings are provided by the Company. All employees are required to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducbirds, etc.). All employees are required to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity ks, and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
No Fowl Ownership - The Company strictly prohibits employees from owning or being associated with any type of fowl, including, but not limited to, chickens, ducks, geese, quail or pet birds.
