Account Manager, TV Sales Operations & Outside Sales
The Account Manager for TV Sales Operations & Outside Sales is responsible for driving profitable sales within our Television/live streaming business model (internally and externally). The role also owns the day-to-day management of specified Television/live streaming accounts, owns performance success KPI’s tied to the assigned account(s), owns understanding, intimately, all details of the account.
You will be responsible for managing products from launch to discontinuation, managing promotional opportunities maintaining budget and profitability guidelines, hitting sales goals, and troubleshooting etc. You will own launch strategy, sku optimization, television/live streaming growth account optimization and the management of 3PL strategy (if applicable). You are responsible for building a strong seamless partnership with television/live streaming customers teams, and any third-party support partner as needed.
Our sales tv/live streaming account manager handles troubleshooting and maintenance of existing data interfaces with assigned accounts, building strong partnerships (internally) with the owner/CEO, the televisions hosts, product development, understanding updates and requirements – communicating changing needs internally.
Our Sales Television/live streaming Account Managers work closely internally with our IT/EDI, Warehouse, Finance, Merchandising and other teams. They are responsible for providing monthly reporting summarizing successes and challenges with each account and are to ensure best practices are utilized.
We are looking to expand our account management team to support televisions/live streaming platforms/accounts. – they will be managing and growing our ShopHQ, and The Shopping channel (Canada), accounts.
Responsibilities include:
Sales Management
- Drive profitable sales, hitting monthly, quarterly, yearly sales goals.
- Be a lead for assigned ecommerce accounts, management of day to day, weekly, monthly engagement with buyers, planners, business analysts etc.
- Perform product & sales analysis – management of pricing, discounts & promotions & reporting, profitability of the account – responsible for making strategic decisions based on knowledge to consistently drive profitable sales growth.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving – removing roadblocks hindering sales productivity
- Monitor end user customer feedback – returns, quality issues etc.
Portal Management
- Troubleshoots issues with customer services issues in e-tailer portals after live events.
- Open tickets as applicable to ensure business is functioning properly.
- · Download process updates/changes and communicate accordingly to the President, ROG operations team as needed.
IT Bridge
- Work with the IT team to manage data related to product inventory, sales performance, and audience demographics.
- Collaborate with IT department on inventory management of products on TV accounts website to ensure inventory update accuracy.
- Collaborate on troubleshooting technical issues related to product setup and EDI system management.
Shop HQ/TSC
- Manage the completion of product descriptions and specifications for all items featured on-air and customers sites, ensuring accuracy and consistency on the customer's website.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure that on-air products showcase positive impact and enhance other accounts.
- Collaborate with the account’s production team to seamlessly integrate products into the show, ensuring that samples and props are delivered to the station ahead of time and comparison research is submitted two weeks prior.
- Collaborate with on-air hosts, the CEO, and tv channel buyers to plan products for showcasing on air, ensuring that the selected products align with the show’s theme, cater to audience interests, and optimize sales traffic.
- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for the improvement of upcoming shows. Prepare and present reports on show performance, product selection effectiveness, and sales traffic.
- Develop marketing and sales strategies to promote shows and featured products.
- Coordinate schedules for show tapings, live broadcasts, and client meetings.
- Prepare and manage budgets for shows and product placements, tracking expenses to ensure all financial activities remain within budget.
- Negotiate pricing and agreements with clients to ensure River of Goods secures optimal airtime and profitable pricing structures.
- Collaborate closely with the product development team to strategize TV-specific developments and orders, ensuring alignment with show themes and audience interests. Coordinate with the team to plan out timelines for shows and product launches, ensuring timely delivery and seamless integration of new products into programming schedules.
- Coordinate with the warehouse in advance regarding show expectations, including order volume forecasts and specific product requirements. Ensure timely preparation for sample releases and drop-ship orders, communicating order expectations and timelines effectively to facilitate smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the logistics and quality assurance teams to identify and address the root causes of returns or cancellations, ensuring efficient resolution and prevention of recurrence. Manage the cancellation and return processes for orders, ensuring adherence to company policies and providing timely assistance to customers throughout the process.

Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degrees, sales operations or equivalent experience in ecommerce, technology industry, or merchandising.

- Must be detail orientated in auditing our products, via front end Television/streaming websites, EDI feeds, and portal feeds.
- Understand EDI documents and experience in working with EDI systems (testing and document specs, segments and elements), be able to analyze daily EDI activity (Inventory), EDI sales, and weekly EDI trends.
- Must have experience with distribution X12 EDI, like 850, 855, 856, 810, 846 and 867 - Would like to have experience working with 3rd party EDI testing through companies like Amazon, CommerceHub, SPS Commerce and Vendor Net
