Job Summary
As a Claims Specialist, you will focus on various aspects of claims management, including auto liability claims, general liability claims, cargo claims, and subrogation
Job Duties
· Establish and maintain strong, effective, and cooperative working relationships with various entities, including operations and terminal staff, external insurance carrier, finance, legal, and interested external parties (e.g., dealerships, subhaulers, etc.) in order to manage and process claims
- Foster a work environment consistent with the values, vision, mission, policies, and procedures of the company
- Coordinate and communicate with multiple internal and external groups, at all levels
- Maintain visibility and responsibility for workflow and deadline management
- Monitor company and other outside reports to capture all possible claims
- Use software (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Office products) to manage/track claims
- Work with team members and supervisor on process improvements
- Assist with day-to-day tasks required by the claims process (e.g., emails, phone calls, internal and external meetings, etc.
- Provide timely, professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and manage fairly and equitable, in accordance with Jack Coopers’ policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreements and applicable laws
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years relevant work experience
- Previous Auto Liability Claims/Insurance experience/knowledge
- Previous Cargo Claims experience
- Excellent organizational, time management, communicative and facilitative skills
- Excellent attention to detail and internal processes
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Demonstrated judgement and discretion in matters of confidentiality
- Must be detail oriented having the ability to write reports, records and correspondence
- Solid understanding of Microsoft suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
- Ability to effectively relate to employees and management
