Hope Clinic is seeking a mission-focused Advancement Officer to execute and guide the strategic direction of all development and fundraising activities. Working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Board Development Council, the Advancement Officer drives development efforts by managing and growing our donor base, cultivating relationships with major gift prospects, and creating an annual giving plan to support short-term and long-term financial goals.
This is a benefit-eligible position anticipated to work 30 hours per week. Benefits include generous, low-cost health plan, paid vacation and sick time, and a substantial paid holiday schedule that includes the week of Christmas and New Years.
Required Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders at every level of the organization
- Strong understanding of development and fundraising to establish reasonable goals and create effective strategies to achieve them
- Leadership skills to effectively collaborate and make recommendations
- Ability to fully support Hope Clinic mission, vision, and core values, with sensitivity to ecumenical outreach efforts
- Understanding of fundraising software platforms and ability to effectively oversee donor software systems
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Working with CEO to establish strategic fundraising objectives (one year, five year, and longer-term goals)
- Establishing annual development revenue projections for budget cycle
- Managing direct mail appeal process from start to finish (production, printing, mailing, and reporting)
- Compiling donor and client/patient data for Annual Report
- Tracking regular communication with donors to continually cultivate giving opportunities
- Identifying prospective donors and determining appropriate cultivation strategy
- Establishing major gifts program that allows donors to invest in the vision and mission of Hope Clinic
- Assisting and advising CEO, board, and other stakeholders in their solicitation efforts by providing strategic counsel, donor portfolio information, and general support
- Acknowledging major donors through public and private recognition efforts
- Ensuring communication and outreach activities consistently and appropriately promote engagement and giving opportunities
- Providing research, regular reporting and timely communication to Board of Directors, Board Development Council, and Senior Staff (via weekly tracking scorecard)
- Acting as an ambassador to promote Hope Clinic and engage others in the mission
- Directly supervising Development and Outreach staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Experience in development and fundraising for a non-profit organization, and/or faith-based community
- Demonstrated experience with donor cultivation, major gift solicitation and stewardship, and annual giving
