Product Support & Service Technician
Dymax designs and builds some of the world’s most specialized railway equipment and earthmoving attachments. Many of these products are mounted to construction machinery including wheel loaders, dozers, backhoe loaders and hydraulic excavators. We’re currently seeking a technically motivated individual who understands what it takes to provide top notch service and support.
As the Product Support & Service Technician you will be assisting customers with troubleshooting and helping them get up and running. In some cases you may be required to travel and provide orientation for dealers and new products introduced to the market.
The ideal candidate would have a mechanical mindset building hotrods and a background in heavy equipment and diesel technologies. This role also requires basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, electronics and pneumatics and would require the ability to read basic schematics. It may from time to time require some limited welding and cutting. Our customers include major railways, mining companies and transit systems found across North America and in select international markets.
Key Job Functions
- Troubleshooting of electrical systems including can bus applications, hydraulic systems, mechanical and power unit technologies including diesel engines with hydrostatic pumps.
- Perform work on mobile equipment and assembly of attachments to equipment or machinery.
- Can be in the field or at dealer locations
- Can be at the factory in Wamego, KS.
- Must be able to travel on short notice for emergency situations.
- Travel is not extensive throughout the year but required. Estimated max travel of 15 during busy times of the year. Travel may increase depending on growth.
- In this role you’ll assist the product support coordinator and product manager with the following tasks as delegated by the manager.
- Troubleshooting assistance for electrical, hydraulics and mechanical.
- Talks to customers over the phone to troubleshoot and resolve their problems
- Takes down information and enters it into the product database for evaluation by others
- Writes parts and service orders as needed
- Overseeing entry for warranty related orders

- Record keeping
- Ensure we follow a process to record specific items then update records in other database systems to ensure we don’t repeat issues within product lines.
- RMA’s Returns and Procedure with specific associated RMA part.
- Follow QA processes for any engineering or product change requirements.
- Must be able to use conventional computer software systems including Sage ERP, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office, Google G Suite. Basic Training provided.
- Must be able to document work performed and organize details with clear and concise communication using organized forms and other methods.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment
- A.A.S. or certificate in Diesel Technology, Agricultural Power/Technology or Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology
- Acceptable driving record
