EJES is an Engineering and Architecture Firm with offices in three different states. We have a high priority opening in our Dallas office for an energetic Project Manager/Project Architect. You will be joining a multi-faceted, diverse group of designers who are delivering major project designs through a collaborative effort. Position Purpose:
The primary responsibility of Project Manager / Project Architect is to focus on managing project teams and providing technical oversight for a thriving architectural studio. This position is responsible for providing outstanding technical and architectural expertise to a diverse portfolio of projects. Project Manager / Project Architect will be instrumental in executing LEED projects. This position must be committed to high quality design and personalized client service and must manage projects in a cost effective manner. As a Project Manager / Project Architect, this person will need to effectively communicate and manage relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, vendors, engineers and other municipal representatives in order to achieve established goals for a project.
The following is a list of general responsibilities for the Project Architect. It is understood that these general responsibilities are not inclusive of all the duties that this position requires, but instead, are intended as a general scope of work.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for organizing and running design teams to complete large scale technical complex projects.
- Plans and prepares construction drawings and specifications of project.
- Supervises and reviews the work of architectural and mechanical designers and other personnel involved in the project.
- Supervises and participates in the preparation and maintenance of cost records which are used in preparing cost estimates of new projects.
- Work collaboratively with staff
- Possess a very mature level of critical thinking
- Meets with design/project team to ensure understanding of project fee, budget, and schedule, and conveys information in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PMP or a Master’s Degree in Architecture or a 5 year professional degree
- 10 to 15 plus years of progressive experience with K-12 or Higher Education Project Experience
- Proficient with Revit, Auto-CAD, and Microsoft Office
- Strong graphic and free-hand sketching ability.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- K-12 or Higher Education Project Experience
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, materials and components, exterior and interior detailing, coordination, construction management and master planning of large projects, including local zoning and code requirements is a must.
- Familiarity with development market
- Ability to maintain and build client relationship
- The ability to effectively manage people to achieve their best performance.
- Knowledge of all applicable codes and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and system appropriate to the firm’s work.
- Possess strong organizational and time management techniques.
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks concurrently and efficiently.
- Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to review, analyze, and make recommendations regarding designs, plans, and specifications.
