JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking Operator I associates to join our team.
Operator I: The Equipment Operator positions assist with the timely fulfillment and delivery of products from the warehouse utilizing a Power Industrial Truck (PIT). A warehouse associate who is PIT certified (i.e., can use reach trucks, cherry pickers, walkie riders, and dock trucks).
A warehouse associate who is PIT certified (i.e., can use reach trucks, cherry pickers, walkie riders, and dock trucks). Performs some of the same activities as Material Handler I associates, but Equipment Operator I associates also performs tasks that require use of machinery.
When issues arise, this level seeks assistance from an Equipment Operator II or Lead or their respective supervisor who will support problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Certification by Mechanix Wear to operate equipment
- Daily pre-trip inspections
- Harness Utilization
All Operator I positions perform one or more of the following functions as assigned:
- Unloading: Facilitating unloading, separation, and palletization of materials
- Put-away: Scanning and moving product from one location to its destination location (performs secondary scans at final location to ensure accuracy)
- Picking: Selecting individual items from the warehouse inventory to satisfy demand, scanning bin locations, item, and counting them to ensure proper item and quantities picked
- Induction: Working an automated sorting table, scanning UPCs to load product onto the correct robots; utilizing a computer to systematically sort product at high speeds
- Closeout: Using an RF scanner to complete an order and place it on a static conveyer to be sent to packing
- Packing / Quality Control: Scanning products and LPNs to ensure orders are correct; placing shipping labels and completing the packaging process
- Dock Sorting: Organizing, categorizing, and consolidating orders onto carrier pallets
- Freight Line Handling: Loading trucks; invoicing orders in ERP and Warehouse Management System (WMS); ensuring completion of daily due shipments
- Value Added Service: Applying UPCs and/or other customer-specific requirements to product or processes
- Returns: Processing RMAs (receipts) by validating quantities, segregating product, and ensuring that product received matches the RMAs; facilitating put-away process in the WMS and corresponding to customer service teams to finalize receipt posting in ERP
- Transfers: Converting product from one customer specification to another; documenting the conversions in all systems to ensure accurate tracking
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring that product quality is performing to Vendor Production Guide (VPG) standards and making action plans to remedy issues with vendors
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES
- High level of Safety awareness. Follows all safe operating procedures keeping a proper lookout, maintaining control of the PIT, and operating at safe speeds.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow processes and procedures with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures
- Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory
- Power Industrial Truck (PIT) Certified by Mechanix Wear
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Work experience in Warehousing preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time
- Requires frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring equipment and materials
