Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall operations of the library, including staff supervision, budget management, and strategic planning.
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective services.
- Oversee the acquisition, cataloging, and organization of library materials.
- Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons.
- Plan and coordinate library programs, events, and outreach activities.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in library services.
- Collaborate with other departments or organizations to enhance library services.
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and statistics.
- Ensure the library is clean, organized, and welcoming for patrons.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in library management or a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in data entry and software troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of integrated library systems for cataloging and circulation purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with current trends in library services and technology.
