Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Meat Trimmer / Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation and cutting meat. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high food safety standards.
Duties:
- Trim, clean, slice, and cut raw meat to prepare for packing
- Basic knife skills
- Uses knives and other equipment to perform trimming
- Sharpen and clean own knives as needed and use personal protective equipment to ensure safety.
- Able to stand and perform manual lifting
- Verify that each item meets the quality standards of the company
- Rotate to other job duties in the department depending on needs
- Ability to work with cold materials in a cold environment
- Follow all safety regulations and support others in working safely
- Must wear slip-resistant shoes
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Meat Cutter or similar role in a kitchen or restaurant setting
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and tools, including knives
- Strong understanding of food production processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in cold environment
- Familiarity with food safety standards and procedures
