ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is not all inclusive and may include other duties, as necessary.
· Receives instructions, prints and work orders.
· Interprets drawings, sketches, and determines working procedure.
· Perform work layout and makes sketches of parts as required.
· Calculates and determines dimensions, tapers and other data using shop formulas and handbooks.
· Make sure required tooling and material is in stock and order as per procedure.
· Selects and grinds tools in accordance with hardness, machine ability and other properties of the parts to be machined.
· Procures and makes jigs, fixtures or machine attachments required for the job.
· Sets up and operates machine tools, adjust stops, feeds, and speeds for efficient machining.
· Machines parts to precision tolerances (.01mm or less) and specified finishes.
· Uses precision measuring instruments.
· Dismantles machinery and equipment, assembles fits, aligns, and readjusts machinery and equipment to very close tolerances.
· Works in shop floor as required.
· Works under the direction of the Machine Shop, Production Supervisors and Process Engineers.
· Practices effective safety procedures.
· Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· Journeyman machinist or equivalent; demonstrable ability to operate all machine ship/tool and die equipment in an accomplished manner.
· Experience in operating CNC equipment.
· Able to program machines as per required.
· Ability to work without direct supervision.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school Diploma or GED equivalence.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, hands or feet. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, twist/turn, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust one’s focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet humid or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and extreme heat.
