Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining various types of tools, dies, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. This is a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, or EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment to fabricate parts
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, or CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, or tools using hand tools or machines
- Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects
- Test completed tools or dies to ensure that they meet specifications
- Troubleshoot issues with tools or dies during production
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of tooling processes
- Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks
- Experience with stamping press operations and maintenance
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Skilled in machining operations such as milling, turning on a lathe, grinding
