Description:
We are seeking a Senior Branch Operations Specialist to join our growing Branch team. If you are a driven individual who is passionate about providing valuable services while assisting members on their path to financial freedom, this role may be a great fit for you.
The Senior Branch Operations Specialist is responsible for providing a variety of member service and lending functions such as processing savings accounts, checking accounts, and loan transactions; making deposits, processing loan applications, etc.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the branch staff/MSRs are open and ready to conduct business each business day.
- a) Responsible for general maintenance, security and safety of the Branch.b) Orders and verifies currency shipments for the Branch.c) Ensures that the Branch balances all transactions at the close of each business day. May assist MSRs and others to resolve adjustments. Authorizes adjustments.d) Ensures all equipment is in proper working order.e) Promotes Credit Union products and services.
- Assists the Operations Manager with supervision, direction, control, and overall activities of the Branch and Contact Center. Ensures a trained, motivated, and professional staff capable of providing efficient and effective services to TEFCU’s members.
- Provides accurate information to members regarding the Credit Union's services, products, policies, and procedures. Analyzes member accounts in order to provide better services and performs a variety of account maintenance functions.
- Utilizes tact and experience-based knowledge to resolve member problems by explaining specific policies and products while representing the Credit Union in a professional manner and maintaining positive member relations.
- Processes all transactions for members in person and via phone, mail, fax, and online services including deposits, transfers, and check withdrawal from checking/savings accounts, loan payments, cash advances for deposits, account transfers, name changes, processing check orders, and address changes.
- Verifies deposit amounts and examines checks for endorsement and negotiability. Inspects all checks, drafts, savings withdrawals, etc. to determine their negotiability. Disburses cashier checks and ATM/debit cards.
- Opens new member accounts and provides information to new and prospective members by explaining and cross-selling Credit Union products and services. Ensures all electronic services are setup and members can access accounts online. Completes forms for opening and processing of all types of accounts including share, share draft, money market, etc. Conducts follow-up calls to members to collect new business.
- Places stop payments on checks/ACH items and provides copies of cancelled checks. Processes wire transfer requests and transaction disputes, and forwards to the appropriate person for transmission.
- Receives new loan applications in person, via phone, or fax. Inputs all pertinent information for the request, explains documents needed for approved loans, and sets appointments for members to speak with Loan Officers. Explains loan denials thoroughly, recommending the next step in the loan process. Analyzes details and obtains additional information for reconsideration.
- Analyzes credit reports and credit scores to guide members in selecting specific loan products tailored to the member's personal need and financial situation.
- Keeps the Lending department informed of any changing trends throughout the membership base. Assists the Lending department with the disbursement of share secured, signature, and credit card loans as needed.
- Performs other operational and administrative duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Acts within company policies and procedures, performing job duties and responsibilities in a manner which protects the integrity and reputation of the Credit Union.Work Schedule:
We have openings for full-time employment, and this is a non-exempt position. Hours worked will typically be Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with occasional extended hours as needed. Our Branch is open for a partial day on Saturday's, and all applicants must be available to work 1-2 Saturday's per month. The Saturday schedule will be provided with ample notice so that you are able to plan accordingly.
Required Qualifications:
- At least four (4) years' experience working in a Financial Institution.
- At least two (2) years' direct experience with Lending.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Displays a clear ability to calmly and independently resolve conflict in a professional manner.
- Demonstrates superior organizational and prioritization skills with an ability to successfully balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilizes a high degree of discretion, judgement, tact and professionalism, both in person and on the phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years' experience working in a Financial Institution is preferred.
- Experience working within a Credit Union is preferred.
- Symitar/Episys core processor experience.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
