Senior Maintenance Technician
Chandler Arizona
Scope of the job:
To perform maintenance and service of machines and equipment according to planned schedules and according to the company needs.
This position will entail training in Japan for a duration of 3-6 months.
This role will play an important part in setting up the new line in Chandler to ready it for production, helping with the transfer of knowledge from Japan and actively participating in the installation and commissioning phase of the project.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performs daily machine diagnostics and following subsequent repair, including control systems repairs, according to user requirements. Services electrical equipment (motors, sensors, contactors, control electronics, controllers, proportional valves, linear or rotary measurement of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, etc.). Performs preventive and predictive maintenance according to schedule and maintains necessary records.
- Cooperates with internal customer/user and external service provider during equipment maintenance.
- Ensures the write-off and registration of used spare parts and ensures their following purchase.
- Is responsible for the smooth operation of the service assigned to (in cooperation with external suppliers and the user of the given machine/equipment).
- Deals with the obstacles/situations that arise and if it is beyond the capabilities, informs his superior.
- Analyzes the causes of recurring defects and possible work safety risks during servicing.
- Reports the consumption of spare parts, the length of the repair and malfunctions of specific machines through the repair record.
- Keeps records necessary for maintenance activities – record of services, write-off of spare parts, TPM cards, etc.
- Prepares/selects necessary spare parts for service, or their equivalents. He proposes repairs and modifications to machines leading to an increase in their reliability.
- Is responsible for updating the technical documentation for repaired machines and equipment.
- Collaborates on VTPS projects to increase the safety, quality and efficiency of the production process.
- Seeks and implements improvements in processes, costs and maintenance activities as part of continuous improvement. Collaborates on KAIZENS.
- Performs other tasks according to the instructions of his superior, and tasks from the TPM project.
- Performs maintenance work in 3-shift operation and, if necessary, also provides on-call during non-working hours.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- High school (secondary), electric field of study - machine maintenance or engineering
- 4 years of experience in a similar position in the field of machine and equipment servicing in an engineering company
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software
- Result orientation, team approach, manual dexterity, reliability, diligence
