Position:
RN, Dialysis **** $10k SIGN-ON BONUS ****
Our RNs are integral in ensuring safe care and the highest quality outcomes are prioritized for every patient. Dialysis experience preferred. Applicant must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Current state license required.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualifications include:
1. Bachelor’s degree or Associate Degree
2. CPR certification required within 90 days of hire
3. Current RN license in New York. License must be maintained as current and in good standing
4. 6-months prior experience working in dialysis
5. Basic computer skills
6. Must be able to organize time and tasks well
7. Must meet any practice requirement(s) for New York
8. Must be able to lead the clinical team, assign and oversee daily clinical assignments of the RNs, LPNs, and CHTs when called to do so
9. Must be able to work and communicate with the credentialed Nephrologists regarding the patient's day-to-day care
10. Ability to meet minimum hiring standards, which include background clearances and orientation requirements
Duties:
- Assist with clinical admissions and operational procedures to improve patient health and minimize hospitalizations and missed treatments.
- Demonstrates effective use of supplies and staff labor hours
- Perform duties as assigned to meet the patient care and/or operational needs of the facility
- Complete and document monthly review of patient medication profiles. Update orders and/or administer medications as ordered by the physician
- May Participate with the implementation of anemia management and medication protocols when asked to do so
- Provide patient education and follow up as needed
- Assist with programs target goals for patient outcomes in accordance with quality patient care and company goals
- Knowledge of and comply with federal, state, local laws and regulations, including healthcare professionals practice act requirements
- Perform duties at all times within limitations established by and in accordance with company policy and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- Complete patient admissions process as outlines in policy and procedure, collaborating with team members regarding real or potential problems or needs relative to the treatment provided
- Complete pre and post treatment physical assessments
- Initiate and terminate patient treatments to include connecting and disconnecting catheters/access sites and cleaning catheter/access sites per protocol
- Obtain blood samples for lab analysis as required to complete physician orders
- May reinforce patient education as needed under the direction of the Clinical Facility Administrator
- Use appropriate safety measures including personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary
- Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments
- Verify/respond to visual and audio alarms on machines; troubleshoot machine alarms as suitable
- Remove disposables and clean station after each treatment
- May be required to clean isolation room post treatment, if applicable
- Be familiar with emergency equipment and all emergency operational measures
- Obtain pre and post treatment weight of patient per protocol
- Safely initiate and terminate dialysis treatments per facility protocol, and within scope of practice as allowed by state regulations
- Monitor patients during dialysis treatments
- Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment
- Maintain supplies in the Nurses’ station and Medication Preparation area. Help maintain supply room clean and orderly
- Supervise and confirm proper procedure of water testing at the beginning of each shift by the CHT’s and as directed by the Facility Administrator. Complete/document quality control logs throughout the day as required.
- Take vital signs per protocol during patient treatment and document on treatment record as required.
- Perform safety checks for each patient by reviewing machine settings and treatment settings for every treatment. Review each patient flowsheet for content and accuracy prior to signing it off.
- Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the Clinical Coordinator
- Report machine problems to the Biomedical Technician and Facility Administrator
- Participate in staff meetings as required. Attend in-services and continuing education sessions in compliance with company policy and procedure.
- Assist with staff training as requested.
- Participate in team concepts and promote a team effort, perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Participate/Lead facility initiatives (ie: Vascular Access, Care Plans, Transplant engagement, etc.) in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Must be flexible with the schedule. Though it may not be needed, alternating Saturdays is the expectation of all staff
Experience:
- Nursing: 6 months (Required)
